The Commands of Christ

Sentergy.us was the first result I found in Google with NPL's commands. They were embedded in a larger summary of NPL material. Below are just the commands. At least four of them we could do every day, possibly multiple times over: abide in God's Word, show love, pray, and worship. Systematically ridding our life of sin might be under repentence. That's five. Doing these daily, abiding in Him, let's Him work in and through us more. Let's do them every day this week. Then... every other week for the rest of our lives. :)

Common objection: "But it's too hard. We're not super-Christians or something!"

This is the bare minimum God asks of us. The fact is that most people do more for their employers in half a shift than it would take to make progress on this entire list. Every day, they do more than this for mere men for wages that come and go. Obeying God gives us rewards of eternal value now and later. Plus, we'll almost certainly spend those hours on things like entertainment. We could shift 15m-1h of that to Him if we really want to. Let's do it!

We abide in Jesus. We do that by obeying His commands and teachings. So, how do we abide and what do we obey?

The Commands of Christ are a solid starting point on the basics on how to do these things. Each command is a different lesson. Each one comes with the Scripture that issued the command. Each also has a story showing the command in action. Groups can discuss the stories. Reading, praying about, and discussing these will give us a greater understanding of what it means to truly abide in Christ.
